To perform certain operation on a userscript first select that userscript from left sidebar. Once selected its name get highlighted as shown in above screenshot.
You can perform following operations on a userscript…

How To Speed Up your BroadBand Speed, Internet Tips and Tricks

I just found this article which discusses important tips to significantly speed up your internet access through BSNL Dataone broadband connection / most other BroadBand connections like Reliance or Tata Indicom or Sify Broadband .

Setting DNS For Your Connection
One of the major problems with BSNL Dataone Broadband connection is the DNS servers they provide by default. Most of the time they are very slow and sometimes they fail to respond. I noticed that I am starting to spend a significant amount of time in DNS resolution with Dataone connection, often it is larger than the time it takes to actually get the reponse. Here is a simple solution to significantly speed up your DNS resolution.

Open up the network connection profile and edit TCP/IP settings. In the DNS server address fields, specify the following DNS server addresses: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
Disconnect the connection and then connect again. You are done.

This specifies third party DNS servers which are significantly faster than BSNL Dataone’s DNS servers.

Note: The service is provided by OpenDNS.

Saving your Bandwidth
Firefox users can use FlashBlock extension to prevent downloading of Flash content by default, thereby significantly speeding up browsing experience. You can click on the placeholder icon to display the original Flash content any time. This is more of a passive tip in that reduces data usage to improve your overall experience.

Setting TCP Parameters
You can try to increase your broadband bandwidth tweaking the TCP/IP parameters. The process is simplified by using TCPOptimizer, a free tool. It helped me a lot but your mileage may vary

How to Increase Internet Dialup Speed

Dial-up access is a slow internet connection that is being replaced by faster broadband connection speeds such as DSL and cable modems. It uses connection speeds of up to 56K, making them much slower for running browsers, downloading programs and connecting to mail servers. While you cannot increase dial-up speed to over 100Mbps like that of DSL or cable modem, there are simple steps to optimize performance and increase connection and browser speeds.

1.
Step 1

Run frequent virus checks and remove malicious programs such as malware and spwyare that hijack web browsers and deter connection speeds. If you do not have an antivirus program, download and install a free program such as AVG Antivirus (see "Resources," below).
2.
Step 2

Empty browser cache and history frequently to avoid clutter that slows down connection and page loads. While this feature may vary depending on the web browser that you are using, usually it can be found in the "Tools" section or "Internet Options" section on your web browser.
3.
Step 3

Download and install free, faster web browsers such as Opera or FireFox (see both in "Resources"). The reasons these web browsers are much faster is because of improvements in coding and in how previously visited pages are stored in the browser cache.
4.
Step 4

Uninstall unnecessary plug-ins or browser-add ons that deter connection speeds and cause your web browser to run slower. To uninstall browser add-ons, click the Windows "Start" button and click the "Control Panel." Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" to open the programs window. Scroll through and click the browser add-on you want to uninstall. Click "Change/Remove" to uninstall it from your computer.
5.
Step 5

Turn on pop-up blockers on your web browser so as to disable pop-up advertisements that slow down browser speed. Dial-up connection is already slow, and the presence of these nuisances diminishes the speed even more.
6.
Step 6

Create browser "Bookmarks" to allow you quicker access to your favorite websites. It will help speed up your connection by eliminating unnecessary mouse movements and typing.
7.
Step 7

Use "Tabbed browsing" if your web browser supports it. Tabbed browsing allows you to open multiple pages in a single browser window rather than opening multiple windows that slow down browser speed. Each page can be accessed by clicking the appropriate tab within the browser window. Most web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorerand Opera use tabbed browsing.
8.
Step 8

Turn off web page images. While this option will only allow you to see text on the Internet, it increases browser speed by eliminating the download and refresh times needed when certain web pages contain high volumes of images.

How to Speed up Firefox by Running it in RAM

As the speed of Internet access continues to increase, the slow link in browsing the Internet is becoming the browser itself. Firefox is a leader in the game to make the browser faster and provide content in a variety of media. One speed-increasing innovation is the ability to run the browser from a RAM disk. The program responds faster because the computer is able to bypass the slower hard disk.

1.
Step 1
Download the latest copy of Firefox Portable. This version is faster than the original in that the portable version doesn't track history or build a cache. You will also need to download a RAM disk utility. There are many versions available so pick your favorite. A RAM disk uses a portion of your computer's RAM to make a pseudo disk drive. It makes accessing the information stored on the drive much quicker than going to the hard disk to access it. The drive will appear on your computer as drive B. The typical size is 32MB but can be as large as 64MB.
2.
Step 2
Open Notepad and create a batch file that will execute at system startup to copy the portable version of Firefox to the RAM disk. This will make sure that Firefox is resident and ready to run from RAM when you want to browse the Internet. Create the file, naming it load_firefox.bat and the only code that will be in the batch file will be: XCOPY C:\FIREFOX\*.* B:\FIREFOX\ /E /Y /C. Enter the text exactly as written here, then close and save the file. Place the file in the Startup folder so that it loads Firefox each time the system starts.
3.
Step 3
Create a second batch file that will copy all Firefox settings back to the hard disk before the computer shuts down. Name this file, save_firefox.bat. The code in this file is: XCOPY B:\FIREFOX\*.* C:\FIREFOX\ /E /Y. Again, copy this exactly and save the file to your desktop. Once Firefox is shut down, you can execute this file to copy all the settings back to the hard drive so that when you start next time you will have the same settings. When you execute the file, it will copy the entire contents of your RAM disk back to the hard disk, replacing the version that was there when you started the computer.
